When adjusting settings for bright enough video at night does infrared automatically provide videos that are bright enough in low or dim light?

Or does the brightness setting have to be adjusted to either +1 or +2.

Are there any other setting adjustments that can help illuminate the video with sufficient brightness on a dim street?

The scene is sufficiently illuminated up to a distance of about 15-20 ft.

Yes, you can increase the EV correction to squeeze out a little more reach of the IR LEDs.

Not in the Arlo UI.

You may consider mounting an external light source, that is either permanently on or motion triggered, though if the latter, the light's motion sensor may not trigger at the same time as the Arlo camera's motion sensor, so a permanent light is probably best. The external light can be infrared too, of course.

Another option, though quite a bit more costly, might be to set up more Arlo cameras in the covered area and probably create rules that would trigger all cameras covering the area if motion is sensed on just one of them. The additional light from the additional cameras will provide more lighting coverage and will all be perfectly synchronized to the motion event.

Remember though, that the coverage area of an Arlo Wirefree camera for both sensing and illumination is 15-20 ft, so a dim street may be too much for what Arlo was built for.

See an example of nighttime illumination and reach in a post of mine on an unrelated topic, which also shows an example of a second camera illuminating an offset area (i.e. non-contiguous to the first camera's light-coverage area):

The first camera is set to maximum EV offset.
