I’m to the put of buy a different kind of camera system. The batteries are only lasting 4days to a week

How many total minutes of recording and live view per day are you using on average? Spec battery life is for <5 minutes total per day. If you get a zillion recordings, you need to change the camera view to eliminate the unneeded triggers and/or change the motion sensitivity settings in your modes and rules.

The other possibility is poor reception of the signal between the base and cameras. This can be distance, metallic objects on and in the walls in the straight line path for the signal or even other wireless devices near the base or cameras that are causing interference with the signal. Some house construction makes a huge difference, too, with stucco, brick and stone standing out as culprits. You may need to move the base closer to the cameras for a better connection.

Another option is to put the cameras on permanent power.

If you have suitable mains sockets, Arlo makes outdoor adapters for its cameras. This also gives you extra features.

Or you can use a solar panel to charge the batteries, but that does not add those features.

Since this is the original wireless camera section, be aware that there is no AC adapter for these cameras. That started with the Pro series.
