I'm getting decent battery life using Duracell or Energizer batteries, but my problem/question is:  When I replace them I test the ones I took out and they show 5 out of 7 on the meter and it says they are Good. Why does the camera not work and tell me to replace them when they are still good?

The cameras use more current and a voltage threshold compared to more typical uses of these batteries, such as flashlights. If you have flashlights you can use the batteries in them to get more usage from them.
