Battery indicator red even with new batteries

I have switched out the batteries twice (non-rechargeable) and still getting a low battery reading.

If you are using the OEM batteries ( like those 123 cells that came originally ), Make sure they are in correctly ( sticker just inside shows proper polarity  ) and after installing, Power reboot the base via the power button.

 

Give it 2-3 mins for all to come back ( if logged in you may have to log out and back in to refresh )
