Is anyone else having trouble physically pulling the batteries out of the camera? I literally cannot push open the lid enough to get them out. Extremely frustrated.

They can be rather problematic, either sticking down in their slots or not being easy to clear the battery door. All you can do is to make sure the door is fully open and GENTLY force the battery past the door/hinge.
