So if a weak signal is relative to using up the re-chargeable batteries too quickly what would be advisable....a stronger router?  I'm about ready to give up on this system and go to a hardwired system.  My metal barn is not quite 200 feet from our house with the base unit in a window I get a good signal most times....we have the camera located in a doorway which works.  But last night the re-chargeable batteries died at 4am...not a great time to trapse out to the barn and replace them interrupting possible foaling process.  So...router or go wired system?

A router won't help since the connection is between the base and cameras. However, repositioning the base could alleviate the issue as well as using a WiFi extender in the barn to allow a base to be connected there instead of in the house. Also, be sure to monitor your battery levels proactively so you don't have them depleting like this.

You could possibly use a Q camera which uses your home WiFi instead of a base. Then a powerful router could help and you'd have other advantages such as extended streaming since the camera is powered.

OR in your case, run an etherenet cable out to the barn... etherenet is good for 300ft easy... add a AP out side there
