Batteries draining after getting new one. Also not receiving email notifications for low battery

We just put in new batteries July 4th. Energizer 123 batteries, Saturday July 27th all the cameras went offline. I brought 2/4 cameras inside to see what is going on. I deleted and tried resyncing and that didn't work. I read that a flashing amber light means it needs new batteries.
Anyone else have the issue of Arlo draining batteries?
Our front door camera has caught 24- 10 second videos. 11 of those were in 1 day mowing the front yard forgot to shut them off but that was at the beginning of the month and has only caught 1 every few days since then. But it still shows offline and wont connect so I can only assume it's also the batteries.

Can you set up to get emails when the arlo battery is low? I thought I use to and don't anymore.

I swapped over to mains adapters a year after getting them as some cameras drained the batteries in weeks whereas others lasted for 6 months 
I've had no problems since .
