Base station vmb3010 Is Going Offline

my base station vmb3010r2 keeps going offline. when it does this, it switches all cameras on and quickly runs down all batteries... thats's three times now in as many months... system is unreliable and unfit for purpose... hopefully arlo has a fix for this or replacement base station... 

anyone know how to resolve this?

Since it could be a hardware problem, have you opened a case with support?

Update:
Arlo support tell me that this is not a hardware issue and won’t reimburse for cost of wasted batteries.
They asked me to log in to my router and set a fixed IP address for the netgear hub.
This is not part of the standard user guide, but I’ve done it and will see if it avoids another future costly failure....
Arlo should advise all users if this ‘fix’ is necessary as I’ve already spent £80 buying new batteries due to hub Liao g connection to router (even though it’s physically connected)

For starters, consider proper rechargeable batteries - saves money quickly.

What do you mean by when the base goes offline it switches all cameras on? How do you know they're on when the base is offline? WHat do the base LEDs show when offline?

As for the static IP address, that has no bearing on the issue - not sure why support would suggest that. Loss of connection to the base is what causes battery drain, not loss of Internet connection. I would open a new case and see what happens then. Let us know whether that has any useful result.

Support are really really unhelpful I’m afraid, happy to blame issue on anything other than Arlo equipment, without considering there might actually be a problem with the base station.
System worked perfectly for 3 months, but now the base station keeps losing connection, and all cameras, (which are always switched off) drain batteries.
I’d recommend buying an alternative to Arlo, especially if you intend using system To monitor a remote location you can’t be at every day to keep switching off and on the base station....

Not everyone has reported being unhappy with support - it can depend on who you get. @JamesC ?

I’m not sure if you are affiliated with Arlo, but your advice to use ‘proper rechargable’ Batteries is in direct conflict with the Arlo user guide which says ‘we strongly discourage the use of any rechargable batteries’

Not an employee but Arlo has  certified a Tenergy battery set that is listed in the accessories here. I believe you may be in the UK (based on the currency you posted) which may be an issue in locating that brand. The issue is to NOT use the cheap eBay crap which has caused fires and meltdowns but to use major brand batteries with built-in circuitry for over-charging and -current protection like the Tenergys. I'm sure other folks can chime in with suggestions appropriate for your geographic location.
