Base station VMB3000 will not switch on

I have had a few trouble free years with my Arlo but in the past few weeks it has been losing internet connection. Tonight it had lost the internet connection again and I tried rebooting it but now it will not turn on at all. I have tried resetting as per all the information given on the forum but all I get is a fixed amber light. When I tried the reset I did not get any flashing lights as some people mentioned in the forum even after pressing it in for up to a minute. I am not a computer expert so would appreciate any suggestions in laymans terms.

unplug the base from the wall , unplug your router, unplug your modem
Plug in modem wait till it comes back
Plug in router wit till it comes back
Plug in the Base, wait .... the Power led should be amber then go green after bootup
If it stays amber, then contact Netgear Support for posible warranty
