My wife and I are going on vacation tomorrow for a week and wouldn't you know it that NONE of our cameras are recording.  They show the picture "live" and when you walk in front of them, they even show you walking by.  HOWEVER, none of them will record and nothing shows in my library.  We have unplugged the unit and reset all of our cameras but it continues to not record.  Any help soon would DEEPLY be appreciated.  Thanks!!

It will not record if you are viewing LIVE. Try it when not viewing LIVE.

My wife and I are having the exact same problem. Yes, you are correct that they do not record when you view live. However, in my case (and what I assume Fsu123 is experiencing), is that if I look on my app when I know there is motion outside, I know the camera has be triggered by motion because the little walking man symbol at the top left of the screen has turned green but I no longer receive notification & video is no longer recorded. All of our cameras are on full motion detection with 100% sensitivity and set to record & notify me which, up until Jan 25-26 they were working great as they had been for the over a year. I figured there must be a software update that I hadn't installed yet but that is not the case. I would love to figure out what I can do to fix this issue.

Motion/recording should be indicated by the running man turning amber - is that just a typo?

If power cycling the base and opening and closing battery doors doesn't work, try removing the cameras from Settings, My Devices and resyncing them.  If still no good, I'd suggest a reset by removing ALL devices as above.  Add the base using the Add Device button on the Devices tab and sync the cameras.  Make sure to note your settings and modes/rules/schedule before resetting to help rebuild what you already have changed.

Sorry, I am color blind so the running man appears green to me - so yes, consider it a typo.

Thank you for the advice, I will follow your steps and hope for the best. Either way, I'll follow up and post my results. Just as side note, something that is happening that I find interesting/strange is that now (this is prior to following your steps as listed above), not only is the running man turning amber (or green for those like me) but on my app the number of "recordings" from my arlos is still be displayed in the upper right corner. However, when I click on the number to watch the "recordings," nothing is there to watch. For instance, this evening I had been away from home for about 4-5 hours and was receiving notifications of motion and by the time I got home, I had received 11 notifications and on my app it indicated that I had 11 new recordings, when I clicked the "11" to watch them, there are no new recordings to watch and the last one that was recorded was on Jan 26th.

Anyways, thanks again for the advice and I'll keep everyone posted.

I am having the same issue -live recording works but no motion and I did resync the camera. The other three work fine. It was like this from the begining when I bought them last month but I thought I just  had settings wrong settings and it would resolve but it did not.

By any chance does the camera have a rule in your modes?  If you removed the camera during troubleshooting, you may need to add a rule for it again.

So I finally found a solution that resolved the issues without having to do a bunch of power cycling & messing with the routers or cameras themselves and everything was accomplished within the app itself. SO, first I when to my cameras and made manual recording to see if these would show up on in my recordings. Sure enough, when video was recorded manually, it would show up without fail in my recordings. So I knew it must be some sort of programming issue (luckily meaning my hardware wasn't toast). So, after verifying that, I went to devices > selected the troubled base station > then hit the black restart button at the bottom of the page. Once the station restarted, I again verified manual recordings worked fine but that motion detected videos still were not showing up. For the last step to resolve my issue, at least, was to go to the "modes" section, in which I had been using a custom mode to record all motion at 100% sensitivity and 120sec recordings on all cameras. I decided I would change my mode and selected the "armed" mode, and removed my custom modes. I then adjusted the settings of the "armed" mode to match the settings I had been using for my custom mode (increased sensitivity to 100%, etc.). Once made the switch to "armed" mode, my cameras magically began to work properly and every issue was resolved.

This worked for me so it may be worth giving it a shot if you currently use a custom mode. Quick and easy fix to what had been a frustrating issue to say the least.

If you need any help feel free to ask and I'll do what I can to help get your issue resolved also.

Best of luck

Sorry, I should have made it more clear that all of these steps were completed within the Arlo app itself. I never had to touch any of the hardware (base stations, cameras, etc.)

Good catch.  That's one reason I suggest that you don't change the Armed mode (at least very much) so you have a fall-back mode to test with.  Create custom modes instead since they can easily be created/removed/changed as appropriate for your specific needs.

I'm having the same issue. I have rules set to record on motion but nothing is recording. Manual recording does work. I don't see an armed setting.

I restarted the base & it seems to be working fine now

AL310,

It sounds like your system may not be on the latest firmware if you do not see an "Armed" option within modes.

Check your firmware by navigating to Settings > My Devices > select base station/camera > Device Info > Firmware
