Arlo camera indicating firmwear update , for 1 month?

One of my cameras has stopped working, all i get on my screen in "firmwear update in progress, please dont remove batteries"

 

i have tried to reset it with the base station but no luck, is the camera a dud?

 

ps it was working for a month then stopped.
