I would like to add some wireless cameras to my camper for security for our gear when we are not at the site or overnight.  I would like to put a couple of these up and have them record locally to the base station through the USB with a flash drive.  Is it possible to have them record locally to the base unit and attached flash drive without having an internet connection?  I thought that I had read that the video had to be stored in the cloud as well.

How long are video clips of motion detection.....10 seconds, 30 seconds?  What is the reset time from the time it stops recording a clip to the time it starts recording another one?  Thanks in advance.

You can not really operate Arlo that way.. the Arlo bases need interent for all commands, THO if set up prior the usb is a backup and video will record to it when internet drops.

The way to use Arlo in an RV would be thru a mobile Hotspot ( with ethernet port ) OR use Q cams with the hotspot alone as they hook into your own wifi.

Record time upon motion is 10 sec to 2 mins, reset time between clips is aprox 8-10 sec if movement continues

Thanks for the quick reply.  So, basically an Arlo setup will not work without an internet connection then?

correct...these are cloud based systems in design

If someone breaks in they can't steal the video recorder

Are you aware of any standalone solutions out there that are battery operated and wireless as well or something that would fit the application that I am looking for?  Thanks.

It sounds like you are looking for a wildlife camera or game camera.  The only disadvantage to those is if someone breaks in and steals your cameras you have lost the video.
