I bought this to monitor my elderly parent who wanders around at night. Any suggestions?

Yes. it should work ... cover small areas like hallways or door ways they must go thru, try to get side motion instead of straight on

 

For better ideas, is it a ranch, stairs, does someone else live there , etc??
