Hello Community,

I recently purchased a used VMB3500 Base Station (to replace an older 3000 unit), and the app refuses to discover the unit. I have performed the factory reset using the button on the back, waiting until the lights all flash amber, then allowing the unit to reboot and reconnect to the internet. The unit shows a green power LED, green internet LED, and amber camera LED. I have ensured that my device is connected to the same VLAN as the base station, but the app still cannot discover it. Is there any way to manually add the base station to my account (using MAC address or some other ID), or did I just waste my money on this worthless upgrade?  I am NOT going to pay for a subscription just so I can get support from the company.

Thanks

Where did you purchase the VMB3500, is it used or new?

As i mentioned in the original post, it is a used unit.

It was a private purchase from an estate sale, along with 3 cameras. They were all still NIB with protective plastic still attached to the lenses.

Old devices may have such old firmware that it won't connect to the servers which expect newer firmware. While the base itself is NOT EOL, it hasn't been manufactured for years. You may need to buy a current product SmartHub (VMB4540 or 5000) to allow the system to be set up.

So I've basically wasted my money on this e-waste? That sucks. I get that it's old and no longer manufactured, but they need to offer a way to manually download and update the firmware offline. Guess I'll have to just continue to use my old 3000 base station and try to get the additional cameras to connect to that.
