I downloaded the arlo app and went through the device registration (base station) than at final step i get a "alredy claimed device" message and it eont let me continue from there on. I cant access the dashboard as it wont complete the dinal step. Any help appreciated.

This usu pops up when the base unit is still registered under another prev owner.... was the unit used /refurbished?
Only way to fix this is via Netgear Support ( or the prev owner if you know who ) to clear the serial number.

No, i bought it brand new from Officeworks here in Sydney. So only way to sort it is by calling netgear? I think theyre closed now

You can try resetting the base using the reset button until the LEDs flash amber and try again. Otherwise contacting support will be needed. There are other options than calling found in the Contact Support link at the bottom here.

Same here, bought new and it just wouln’t let me pass after pressing ‘ I Agree’ button,.Kept coming back with “You Hve already claimed this device “
