Alerts and recordings inconsistent

I just installed the 4 cameras 4 days ago and set up alerts and email notifications on the iOS app. Over these last few day, I have noticed times that I get alerts for almost every movement and then there are times in which no alerts or recording take place with very obvious motion, such as a person walking to my front door.  

 

I never log log out of the app, but when I go back in to check it, I have to log back in with my fingerprint. So, I'm not sure if the app might be turning off automatically or perhaps the cameras are going off line.  

 

When I log back into the app, I'm able to view the live displays on each camera, so I know they work, but I have no idea why there are periods of time when there are no alerts. And I keep it in the alarm mode with the notification and email alerts checked. 

 

Any my assistance would be appreciated.

Are you not getting pushes but still getting emails?

 

Is the camera recording video but no alerts?
