Hello all, I am new to Arlo and recently purchased the VMB 3500 Base Station that came with three cameras. Unfortunately I am unable to determine how to activate the Security Alarm Siren which I am fairly sure is a capability of this unit. I have read several forums which have said it can be armed via the app or via the website. The instructions supplied for both venues are not applicable for what I am seeing on my end. There is a red badge on the app that people have suggested but it only gives me an option to add phone numbers. Other posts have said the app has changed and there is now a drop down drawer at the top of the app or on the website which does not show up for me. Can anyone tell me how to set up the alarm.  Ulitmately what I am wanting the ability to do is trigger the alarm remotely from the app if possible. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Sorry to tell you, but there is NO siren on the 3500 model base.

The siren comes on the 4000 model base.

Thank you for your comments Tom this is very helpful. I am contimplating returning it for another base station model as the siren feature is critical. Pretty hard to deter a break in if there is no derenence for a would be criminal. .

Question: If I was to keep the current system as is, do you know of any Indoor/Outdoor sirens on the market that could be also be triggered remotely via an app?  Seems like a person could use the camera features on Arlo and add another device for a siren if necessary. Any advice is greatly appreciated. J

Hey Jebdawg,

If you have the Arlo Pro Base Station (VMB4000) or Arlo Ultra camera, you can trigger the siren remotely via app.

Thanks very much Jessica P,

My orginial set up came with 3 Arlo Camera's and the 3500 Base. As per your comments, it is clear that I need to upgrade the base station for the Siren Capaiblity. Do you know if my existing cameras will integrate with the 4500 Base if I upgrade?

Thanks for your help

J

I would go with the 4000 base as it will do all you need and is a bit cheaper (?) over the 4500 which may not have a siren either...
