I was livid, as were many others, when Arlo pulled the rug out from under their user base by requiring a subscription to access features that were advertised as free for life (7 days recording). The community pushed back and Arlo balked...and waited. Then, when the time was right and presumably their legal department assured them they could without repercussions, they pulled the same trick not long after. Pretty much the definition of a bait and switch.
I just went to integrate a USB drive to do local storage only, as a means of salvaging all the equipment I purchased that became a collection of paperweights overnight. Turns out you can't do that. Not because it's technically unfeasible but because the money-grubbing swindlers who create policy at Arlo wouldn't get their 30 pieces of silver.
Creating value for investors; destroying value for customers. Despicable business practices. Truly sleazy.
So after years of refining my setup, integrating it with Smart Things to trigger indoor cameras with outdoor sensors, I'm going to go start from scratch with a better, more honest company (if that's even a thing anymore) because these jerkwads don't deserve anyone's business.
I highly encourage anyone considering Alro products to look elsewhere instead. My best lead so far in Ubiquiti.

@DoneWithArloToo - if this happened when your account was migrated to "Feed", then try removing all the rules in the "Arm Away" and "Arm Home" modes and then recreating them.
