Hi everyone I,m new to the community...I just purchased  the 2 camera unit and bought an additional camera...My problem is that my batteries are dead after 4  days on the 2 camera unit and 2 days on the single camera....I'm not continuously recording just turned the motion senser on for movement only..I set it for optimal battery use...Can someone tell me what I did wrong to have the batteries drain so fast as I'm reading on the forum that the batteries should be lasting for 2-4 months and that's not the case with my cameras. Still don't know what I'm doing wrong..can anyone offer any solutions?.. I went to the store to price the batteries and they are running  15.99 to19.99 for 2 batteries.that's ridiculous and I've only had the unit for 4 days...I am seriously thinking of returning the whole unit and just buying a wired unit if I have got to buy batteries every 4 days...Please help...Thanks

Hi mztriff,

I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.  What I could suggest you is to use rechargeable batteries in your cameras.  You may refer to this forum link below as the usage versus time shared by contributors:

Rechargable battery usage vs time by type

Furthermore, as per our data center, two of your cameras are on the latest firmware version while the other one is not.  I suggest that you update it.  To upgrade the camera firmware, open the battery door on the bottom of the camera and then close it. The camera powers up and then searches for the latest firmware update.  Kindly read these articles for more info:

How can I trigger my Arlo system to update its firmware?

What do I need to know about Arlo camera firmware updates?

How do I update my firmware when I am prompted that a firmware update is available?

We , have had exactly the same prooblem as descibed with our batteries. The retailer does not hold the batteries however and while we were waiting for them to get new batteries in ,our shop was burgled again! NO cameras !! Very unhappy with this product and we are taking ours back to replace them with cameras that actually work. Dont buy these cameras!!!!!

Also misleading on the website saying that these batteries last for 4 to 6 months. Ours have lasted 7 days!!

In my experience there are two reasons for only 7 day battery life...

1) excessive use ; these cams are not for 24/7 recording.

most of my cams last almost 4 months with best video setting using at spec use of 4 mins per day. Two inside cameras lasted 7 months with vey little use other than motion detect when out of home. Others here have similar results

2) defective camera ; there have been several people that have had cameras replaced and I would guess not uncommon in eletrical devices.

If my usage was not excessive, I'd put in for a trouble ticket for possible replacement.

That is crazy... I just ordered a bunch online from a battery distributer and paid $1.35  per piece.

Battery Junction, BTW ( no relationship with company just a customer )

I purchased my four camera system from Best Buy. They do not stock the + 123 batteries. I can not locate these batteries in any of the major drug stores. If I could find a phone number for Arlo I would purchase eight of these batteriws. I have been everywhere on your web site can not find an address or phone number. If someone would please contact me with a phone number i would greatly appreciate it.

Netgear does not sell batteries... so the number is mute.

Try an online battery supply like Battery Junction... I paid about $1.35 each
