Doorbell is dead tried everything more than once, called support and they want $99 to upgrade firmware. I hung up. Is this normal? Just had a cold spell I think it is dead, have power, wi-fi is fine reset it still dead

Good.  You reached a scam support site (likely by googling for a support number).

Use the support area in the app - if you have a subscription (trial or paid), you will find a phone option there.
