I have no chime but installed a new 24v transformer. What is the proper way to hook up the wires to the trans former from the arlo doorbell and do i need the arlo power kit that comes with the camera when we install direct. Thanks!

Correct.

Just to Clarify, my trans former has 3 tabs.  OV / arrow / 24V.  I am assuming the middle one and the right one which is 24V.  I was not sure what the OV meant?

Did you get something like this?  https://www.amazon.com/Transformer-Auto-resetting-Compatible-Doorbell%EF%BC%8CNest-Thermostat/dp/B08...

If so, the middle connector is ground.  You'd connect the doorbell to 0V (zero volts) and 24V.

But it should come with instructions of some sort, so read those before hooking yours up.

You don't use the power kit unless you have a chime.  The 24 v output of the transformer is wired to the video doorbell.

on last questions since you guys seem to be experts.  I noticed that this Arlo Video Doorbell can hook up direct to the Network, or go through the Arlo Hub.  Is there a BEST was to set it up.  I actually have 2 hubs.  One of the older style for the Arlo and Arlo2 camera and I also have the New SMART HUB for the ARLO ULTRAS.  was wondering before i set it up if there was a "Best" way.  Thanks for all the help!

Connecting it to the smarthub would allow you to cross-trigger, and also would also give you direct access to local storage for the doorbell recordings.

On the other hand, I've seen more corrupted video when I switched it to my smarthub though - not sure if that is generally true, or just something with my own setup.
