Will the Arlo Chime AC1001 work with the video doorbell?

I have an arlo video doorbell. Will the Arlo Chime AC1001 work with the video doorbell?

Yes but... The chime has to connect to a base or hub before you can pair it to the doorbell.

I just called arlo and they said it doesn’t work with the arlo video doorbell. It only works with the arlo audio. I am confused. So if it works with a base station how do I connect it?

It works with the audio doorbell because both require the use of a base to connect. I'm not 100% sure if the video doorbell can use the chime if the doorbell is connected to your WiFi - it may have to be connected to the base like the audio doorbell. Maybe someone who has a WiFi-connected doorbell can jump in here with their experience.

However, since the chime requires a base, why not just connect the doorbell to it, also?
