I recently installed the video doorbell. It has been working fine, but today a delivery person came up to the porch and delivered a package. Unfortunately the video was only 4 seconds long and stopped before they took the one step up to the porch. The delivery was not shown!
Nothing has been changed from the defaults.

What recording time is set in the camera rules?

In the "Default Mode Settings" the button "Record until activity stops" is selected. There is also an option "Record for a fixed length". I prefer not to select it because most events are very short (like when a car drives by).

I get the preference, but I still suggest trying a fixed length (perhaps 10 seconds) to see if that resolves it. If there is a wifi signal quality problem, it might not. It'd be useful to rule that out.
As far as the vehicles go, I suggest using the activity zone feature. It might not supress all the vehicle recordings/notifications, but it should get most of the them.

I set up two activity zones and they worked - mostly. I had one vehicle that triped it today. All in all, that helped a lot.
As far as recording for a fixed period, I did that also, but it did nothing. I used the default of 60 seconds. One event recorded 60 seconds, but the others were much less. I tried more and less, to no avail. And in the 60 second one, nothing happened after about 20 second
I don't think it is a wifi strength problem. The live view showed full strength at the bottom of the picture. The Device Settings also show full strength.
FYI, this is the Essential Wired Video Doorbell, firmware 1.18.0.0_1478_6e6deea_6... (cutoff), hardware 1.5

I did set up two activity zones and they seem to work fine, but in many cases the videos are short even though I’m have fixed length for 60 seconds selected. Some are the full 60 seconds, but most are less Some are only a few seconds.

Are you seeing the video freeze (with audio continuing)?
Are you seeing any signs of loss on the connection?
- failures when livestreaming
- green screen in the recordings
- vertical stripes in the recordings

I didn’t see any problems. No stripes, no bars, etc.
