3 camera system plus doorbell. Video from doorbell will record to USB at base station, but to view I have to remove USB and play through computer. Other cameras video can be pulled up on app or computer. I do not have a subscription.

Query: Is there a base station upgrade from VMB 4000 that will allow me to record locally and view doorbell video along with cameras on app or online? Not interested in subscription.

Only the VMB4540 and 5000 SmartHubs provide the ability for the app to view local recordings. If you go that way, remove all devices from your account, set up the new hub and then connect cameras. Don't forget to set up local recordings, too.
