I have a Nest Hello connected to an existing chime. I am planning to replace it with a 2nd generation Arlo video doorbell. Will I have to disconnect the Nest Chime connector or can i just connect to 2 wires at the door?

I'm not familiar with the Nest doorbell but I'd strongly suspect you need to remove all of their equipment before installing the Arlo one.

The chime connector is what Arlo calls a "Power kit".  It diverts power around the chime when the doorbell until the doorbell is pressed.  That protects the chime from possible damage and from buzzing/ringing on its own.

You should remove it - the 2nd gen doorbells don't need it.

Thank you for the responses. I have left the Nest chime connector in place as the Arlo doorbell appears to be functioning properly with it still connected. I am reluctant to disturb the rather convoluted wiring unless absolutely necessary so I will leave it as is for now.
