I have a wired AVD1001 and no chime box. My electrician set me up with an A plug in transformer 16-24 V AC and the camera was working fine for a few months. I had a black out in the neighborhood and the Arlo stopped working. The electrician checked the power and everything runs fine except the camera just won’t work. Arlo sent me a replacement but I don’t know how to prevent this from happening again. The power kit is not in use since I don’t have a chime box. Is there something I can connect between the Arlo and the transformer to prevent any shorting or whatever actually happened from occurring again?

Marcelkahn5,
How long was this power outage? Unless the power outage caused damage to the doorbell, it should resume once power is restored.
