I am looking for suggestions on positioning my video door bell. My current doorbell is mounted perpendicular to my door on the frame of a side window. I think that for the door frame might get in the way of the camera. Thanks!

My original doorbell was the same way. I wanted to place the video doorbell parallel with my door to obtain the best view of my front yard. I had to cut a hole in the drywall inside my house, find the doorbell wire, and then drill outward through the molding around my door frame to mount the new video doorbell. I needed a foot long drill bit to do so. I installed it just under a week ago and very happy with the placement.

My doorbell is mounted right beside a window frame. I had the same concern that it would obstruct the view. It doesn’t.
