Hello,
When I turn off night vision in the arlo app settings, the IR LED still detects that there is not enough light and automatically switches to black and white mode. My question is, why does the image go into black and white even though night vision is turned off?

I bought a second arlo video doorbel especially for this occasion to exclude that it is defective only with my unit. There is an identical problem on the new unit, so I assume it is a software / production problem.

You misunderstand what the Night Vision setting is - it simply enables or disables the use of the little red IR LED that provides illumination in the dark. The camera still has to switch between color and B&W since color requires significant light while B&W has reduced needs. You can turn on exterior lighting to get color if that's what you're after.

So it is not possible to disable black and white in the application settings?

Not unless you provide enough external lighting... it is an automatic feature as light dims it switches to B/W, there is no end user adjustment with this...

In a room can be as little as a 60w bulb, outside a flood light
