By Darren Chaker : I am writing to inquire whether Arlo offers a dedicated bracket or mounting solution specifically designed to securely house their doorbell camera model to prevent theft or tampering. With the increasing number of incidents involving the theft of outdoor security cameras, particularly those mounted in easily accessible locations, ensuring the security of such devices is becoming a priority for many users.

I have multiple properties I offer short term stays and have found it expensive to replace cameras if they are ripped off the door frame and have seen metal housing that attaches to the door for a different leading brand.

Could anyone provide information on whether Arlo has developed or plans to release a bracket or similar mounting accessory that helps to secure the doorbell camera in a way that deters theft? Additionally, I would like to know if such a solution would require any specialized installation or if it can be used with existing hardware. If such housing exists, does the metal housing reduce the connection to the base for WiFi connection?

Furthermore, it would be helpful to understand the specific benefits this security bracket offers, particularly regarding its effectiveness in preventing removal or damage. Does it feature reinforced materials, lock mechanisms, or any other design elements that would make the camera significantly more resistant to tampering or theft?

Also, if there are any customer reviews or reports about the performance of such a bracket (if it exists), I would greatly appreciate details on how well it functions in real-world scenarios.

Lastly, if Arlo does not currently offer such a solution, are there any third-party brackets or accessories that have been proven to be effective in securing Arlo doorbell cameras, and what is your stance on using third-party products with Arlo devices?

There's currently no such bracket available from Arlo and I suspect none are in the offing. I would look into a lockable box to mount the doorbell in so the release can't be used without removing/opening the box. I expect that would be the same for many other vendors, too.
