Arlo Video Doorbell Garbled Audio

I recently installed an Arlo Video Doorbell. When someone presses the doorbell and I answer from my Android phone I can hear them perfectly fine, but my voice comes through very muddled and scratchy almost unintelligible. The speaker in the doorbell doesn't seem to be the issue because the quick responses work fine. It seems like the app or cloud are injecting noise into the input. Has anyone else experienced this? Have you found any workaround (selling the Arlo is not a work around).
