We have got our electric person to try to install the wired Doorbell - however the instructions are only in English which our electric person could not read.
So the EU 24v transformer supplied in the box has been connected up and the wires from this lead to the doorbell.
When I checked it - the white indicator was on to start with but the dial under this shows alternating white then orange. After a while all indicators on the unit started - turning off the power and back on again did not fix it.
We have noticed that a small device called a power kit was not connected up.
Our house has never had a doorbell installed so where is no chime and Arlo does not supply one.
Based on what I have read - is our unit now maybe damaged or it requires the transformer to be removed - the power kit fixed to this and it reconnecting?
Note that we previously had a wire free doorbell - no video for which this was a replacement as that stopped accepting battery power and it seems isn't sold anymore - know anywhere in Europe we can order one, as I suspect our new doorbell is possibly fried because Arlo doesn't produce instructions in in EU languages which our electrician needed - Hungarian in this case..
I tried to fix the installation videos and the documentation and it is clear enough.

If I am understanding you correctly, this part is normal. The AVD1001 (wired battery) has a small internal battery to handle power glitches, and you will see white+amber flashing when that battery is charging.

The power kit is only needed when you have a traditional chime on the circuit. It diverts power around the chime until the doorbell is pressed - that protects the chime.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Can you give more details (or perhaps a photo)?

The AVD2001 (wirefree doorbell) has been replaced by the Gen 2 models (AVD3001 and AVD4001). None of them need a transformer (though all can be connected to one to keep the battery charged).
What country are you in? The new doorbells aren't supported in all countries, so it would be good to double-check before purchase.
