Assuming the front of the doorbell is clean, have you tried increasing the motion sensitivity in the doorbell settings under Default Mode Settings? Are activity zones being used? A reboot, perhaps by reinserting the battery, may be useful.

Double check the sensistivity. It used to default to 80. But I am seeing that the sensitivity has been reset to 50 lately on some of my cameras. No idea why Arlo changed the default.

Maybe because arlo is trying to reduce its costs? Lower sensitivity = less recordings = less computing resources arlo has to pay for? Others have complained that video quality (bitrate) seems reduced, elimination of email alerts, and using customers to test less than ready firmware, software, and hardware also seem like a strategy to reduce arlo's costs. Not to mention all of the inconveniences introduced to persuade users to purchase subscriptions.
Just an opinion

And you're setting the motion sensitivity in your modes and rules for the doorbell (if you use Library to view recordings) or in the doorbell settings under Default Mode Settings (if using Feed), right?
