Hi, I was using the metal tool in order to remove the front of the doorbell to recharge the battery. In that I hadn’t done this for a long while (great battery life!) I thought I had found the hole to release it but after I “pierced” something like a membrane, I went back to the manual. Yep! I pushed the tool through the microphone at the top of the device rather than the release hole on the top of the unit. My question is - should I wrap clear tape around the (now pierced) microphone hole or should I use some sort of gauze? Or should I not worry about rain getting in there as it’s so small (and under the eaves)?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It would seem to be a crap shoot as to what to use. I'd be more inclined to try the piece of tape (the thinnest, most flexible kind you have, like Scotch tape). I'd think you'd want some sort of protection since mist or even dew could get inside.
