No announcement or sound when doorbell is pressed

I am new to the video doorbell and have only had it for a few months. Each time I have had to charge the battery (twice now) it no longer announces when the doorbell is pressed. I am using an Echo Dot (4th generation and an Echo Show 5 (2nd generation). Why does it keep doing this and how to I fix it? It worked when I first set it up until i had to charge the battery.

Have you tried re-connecting your account to Alexa for your Dot?
