There is no on/off button in the app for this device! Essentially it stays on all the time until the battery is dead. For those who use their patios or porches for entertaining this lack of an option makes the doorbell camera worthless. Put an on/off option back into the app!!!

FWIW, they've never had on/off for the doorbell. (I'd also like them to add it).
You can put the entire system to standby when you are on the patio. You can also disarm the doorbell in either of the other modes, and switch to that mode when you are entertaining. Then the other cameras could remain armed.

Part of the puzzle here is making it clear what "Off" means for a doorbell. I think it makes sense to add "detection on/off" to the existing "silent mode" controls. That would allow users to enable/disable the chime, enable/disable calls, and enable/disable motion recordings, and it would eliminate any confusion on exactly what "Off" turns off.

Since the disastrous app update, the only way I can disable our wired doorbells (in 2 separate locations) on my Samsung phone is by going to routines and toggling off the individual doorbells. Which is clunky, but doable. However on my husband's iphone, the routines icon is dead. He has full access and can disable every other camera, but there is no way he can disable the doorbells. What's the fix?

When you say "disable", are you talking only about motion/audio detection? (my guess is yes, since there is no way to engage silent mode from an automation). FWIW, the older "Library" interface also did not have an on/off control for the doorbell. (IMO this should be added).
If so, is there a reason why you cannot modify Arm Home or Arm Away to disable motion/audio detection (deleting the rule for the doorbell, or alternatively disabling notifications but still recording)?

Either
- change the mode to one that doesn't have motion detection, or
- have your husband use your credentials on his phone.

Arm home and arm away don't function on his iphone 13 either. (They function fine on my Samsung.) And yes, we just want to disable the doorbell so it doesn't keep recording him mowing. I have to do it by going into routines on my Samsung and toggling the doorbells off. That function, along with arm home and arm away are grayed out and non functioning on his iphone. Did I mention how well things worked BEFORE the app update? Missing the good old days for sure.

Is he using your account credentials on his phone? That gives him all the functions that you have.
If not, have you double-checked that his account is set up with "grant access" on your account?

Thanks for trying to help us out! Yes, he has been granted full access, and can shut off every other type of camera except the 2 doorbells. Signing in with my credentials isn't really a good option for us as Arlo only allows one active administrative login per account at a time, and we are often at different locations. (Condo doorbell in one state, home doorbell in another.) It's just irritating that the Samsung phone can shut off the doorbell cams, but the iPhone can't.

That used to be the case, but Arlo changed that a while ago. Multiple logins are now allowed.
