Hello
I am still having grief trying to switch off doorbell notifications on my phone without muting doorbell.
It doesn't matter what I am doing, I cannot switch off the doorbell notification on my android phone.
Muting doorbell makes no difference. Activating silent mode makes no difference. I cannot change any configuration without full muting of the whole phone.
I have raised this countless times without success over a year ago.
Why is it important? I am a Vicar and the last thing I need is for the mobile phone to be ringing during a postal delivery when I am at a Sunday service or funeral event or perhaps a private meeting. In all cases, phone is fully muted.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Is the solution software driven or do I continue with manual muting?
Looking forward to solutions 😔

Hello
Thanks for the concern.
To clarify:
The phone is activated when the doorbell button is depressed. The separate chime rings and the phone ringtone is activated via the Arlo app to accept (and talk to the visitor via the doorbell) or decline (do not talk to the visitor via the doorbell).
The silent function does not prevent the loud mobile app ringtone from sounding when doorbell is depressed.
Are you using these settings when you enable silent mode?
If you don't have a traditional chime, then that setting likely is grayed out.

Do you see "Library" in your app menu? Or do you instead see "Feed" and "Dashboard"?
Do you have other Arlo cameras? If so, do you want all camera notifications to be muted together?
You seem to be confusing ringing (when the doorbell calls you after someone presses the doorbell) with notifications (when the app alerts you that motion has been detected).
You use silent mode to prevent the doorbell from calling your phone when someone presses it. That is the only way to supress the phone calls.
Turning off motion notifications is more complicated. One option is to disable notifications for all your cameras (including the doorbell) in one of the modes. You can do that, but still have the cameras record. Then you can just switch the system into that mode when you want motion notifications to be turned off.
If you have an iphone, you can also go into the apple settings. Then select "apps" and "Arlo Secure". If you then select "Notifications", you will see a control to turn off notification sounds for the app. Then you will get the notifications, but there will be no sound. There likely is a similar way to do this with Android.

Thanks for your response.
I am trying to mute the doorbell notification on my phone. When the doorbell rings, I am happy for the plugged in chime to only ring but not both the door chime and my phone. Earlier in the evening, I tested the muted settings on the app and it made no difference. I went into the app and deactivated the sound and again no difference. I had raised the matter with Arlo but they couldn't resolve, so this is nothing new. A full muting of the system on the android mobile app is what I want to avoid as it would mute the overall system so that any doorbell activated would not be heard via the chime.

One further point. The silent option via Android app doesn't work. I tested it earlier.

So you are saying your problem is only about the motion notifications? And that the phone is not being called when the doorbell is pressed?
Do you have any other Arlo devices?

Hello

To clarify:
The phone is activated when the doorbell button is depressed. The separate chime rings and the phone ringtone is activated via the Arlo app to accept (and talk to the visitor via the doorbell) or decline (do not talk to the visitor via the doorbell).
- I cannot reduce the ringtone volume on the Arlo app when the doorbell is depressed.
- The silent function does not prevent the loud mobile app ringtone from sounding when doorbell is depressed.
- I have no control over the mobile phone ringtone volume when doorbell button is depressed.
- The app has limited functionality to manage doorbell ringtone volume (when activated by a visitor). It has been particularly embarrassing when I have been in the middle of a meeting. Last resort is switching the overall mobile to mute. I have been managing this way for the last 20 months or so.
Hopefully the above clarifies the issues experienced.
BTW. I have other ARLO devices. I have three Cameras and Chime in addition to doorbell, all running via WIFI.

Resolved and thanks. It is a shame when I engaged with the Help desk a year ago that the issue was unresolved. Thanks for your persistence responding.
