Hi,

My Arlo doorbell has began to randomly chime when it detects motion.

My Arlo is a wireless model with no chime. Chime comes through on Google. It’s worked perfectly but all of a sudden when motion is detected it treats it as though the doorbell has been pressed.

Check your rules to verify that the action to also sound the chime isn't enabled.

Sorry, could you help explain what you mean in a little more detail please 🙂

Where do I find rules ....

Thank you.

I’ve followed the guidance found here and it doesn’t resolve issue.

There is only one rule I can enable on the wireless doorbell which is - ‘if motion on doorbell’

None of the actions assigned to this rule would result in a chime?

It should be structured as

If the (front doorbell) (motion is detected)

then do the following (front doorbell) (record video)

Followed by

How would you like to be notified? (push notification, or email alert)

Disable both "push notification" and "send email alert", and see if that stops google from getting the notification (and chiming)

That doesn’t resolve the issue though in a broader sense.

I should be able to receive notifications (as I have been for the past 4 weeks since installation) when the doorbell recognises activity within the activity zones.

The doorbell chime should only occur when the doorbell is pressed.

This was working perfectly until yesterday so there’s definitely an issue , do Arlo have a support team I can contact?

I agree it is just a workaround.

Yes, and there is a support link on the top right of the forum page.
