I was having a heck of a time pairing my new chime 2 to my 2K video doorbell. At home, it would not connect and kept timing out after 5 minutes, which can be incredibly long if all you want to do is reset the chime. At work it would connect no problem first try. I finally bit the bullet last Saturday after probably 20 resets and 20 pairing attempts, one hour on chat support (yes, you are correct, two and a half hours of my life on this. I dreaded calling support that badly). It was worse than I thought, after explaining the entire dilemma in great detail, and multiple promises to resolve it, I still had to attempt reset and pairing three times, before the tech support person finally agreed to send me a new unit. Luckily, I was only on the phone with him for about forty five minutes. I received the new unit yesterday, and surprise, surprise, it would not pair in my home. Finally, after another hour reading miscellaneous community posts, I hit upon the password clue that special characters were verboten. I changed my non used as it is 2.4 password to all letters, and it paired first try. I realized that the password at work was all numbers, so that is why it worked at work. I now have two chimes that work with my doorbell, and they will also act as sirens if I need them to. I did have to reset the 2K video doorbell password as a result of this. The only good that came of this ordeal was Arlo did not want the chime back, which lessens the whole negative experience. They should have been well aware of this limitation, and had the correct answer at support, I think!
