Arlo security system questions

We currently have a nest security system for the doors and they are sunsetting it soon so we are looking to switch. We went with nest because there is no ongoing subscription needed. Will the Arlo system send alerts when doors and windows open without the 24/7 security subscription? Also, does anyone know is the base will make a noise when the doors are opened? That is really the biggest function for us.

Yes. You will still receive alerts without a subscription and you can set up triggers for the siren to sound from the base station (providing you have a model that has the sirem.)
