Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wired - Guest access to calls and Audio and Video Doorbell Calls

There is an option in the people menu to restrict Audio and Video Door Bell Calls to additional Friends and Family. Why does the doorbell still ring on their phone when the button is pressed despite the toggle being off?

This issue relates to a problem with being unable to turn the Video Door Bell Call off without losing access to notifications in Smarthings. I'm hoping guest access might provide a way around this issue by creating additional accounts managed online.
