I recently had to remove and add the AVD2001. It will not read the QR code to connect every time I have tried. There have been many attempts and I have followed all the troubleshoot questions. "Talking" with Arlo Support chat was a joke and helped in no way. Looking at this forum, responses to similar questions have really not been helpful either. Had anyone with this issue actually been able to add the device? Or have you been able to get legitimate help from Arlo?

I recently had to remove and re-add one of my wireless doorbells and read the QR code on the doorbell with little issue. Focusing on the code is usually the issue so move slowly from (reasonably) far away and get the camera closer until it detects the code. Better light may help or even taking a clear picture of the code and printing it out.

It's clear from your experience and the Arlo community forums that the "QR code not reading" issue with the AVD2001 is a recurring and frustrating problem for many users, often exacerbated by unhelpful support. While there's no guaranteed fix, some users have found success with meticulous troubleshooting: ensuring optimal lighting and distance, maximizing screen brightness, cleaning the camera lens, restarting devices, trying a larger screen (like a tablet), or even attempting the process on a different mobile device. Factory resetting the doorbell and trying the scan immediately after is also worth another attempt. Unfortunately, legitimate and effective help from Arlo on this specific issue seems to be inconsistent at best. Keep monitoring the community forums for potential workarounds shared by other users.
