Hi, I have a bunch of Pro 2’s which are good but upgraded one to the Ultra and now after 1 month it no longer records motion detection in my feed.
Is it true I now need a subscription in order to keep this feature on my ultra?
Very disappointed if I do as I’ll return it for refund and look to another brand for my upgrade.
Could someone please advise?
thank you

the arlo pro2 were the last arlo Camera model that supported the free 7days cloud storage.
The ultra and subsequent model cameras require a paid subscription plan to get to use cloud storage.
If you have a arlo hub with external storage configured the trigger recordings should be available. 4540/5000 allows in mobile app direct access.

Yes. Arlo stopped offering free cloud storage on new camera models back in 2018. None of the currently sold cameras have free cloud storage.
You can get a VMB4540 or VMB5000 and use their direct access to local recording feature instead of a subscription. But there are a lot of limitations, so if you are considering that option, then post back and we can give more details.
