I have an Arlo Ultra system. My trial subscription has ended after 30 days. I want to record locally onto a Micro SD card that I have inserted into the VMB5000 base station.  This is not possible because when I go into the Storage Settings part of the Arlo app the slide switch to the right of “Record Locally” is greyed out and cannot be switched. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks in advance.

How is the microsd formatted?

How big is it?

Is it possible that the card is read-only - note some cards do have a physical write protection lock.

I have the same exact problem and Arlo support has been NO HELP!  I have been messing with this for a month and a half and have not yet been successful.  It's so frustrating.  If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

128 GB. I am unaware of how it is formatted. Previously it was used in my GoPro. I erased all of the data from it. I also tried using a brand new 256 GB micro SD card. I have the same problem with it. The "Record Locally" switch is always greyed out.

It needs to be formatted in FAT32

you prob can do this in your computer ( maybe with adapter ) or laptop

You can format the card on a computer using FAT32. However, at least Windows PCs don't support FAT32 on drives larger than 32GB. You would need to use a 3rd party FAT32 utility - Google for them.

However, it doesn't matter if you have a formatted card in or out of the hub. The local storage settings should still be there with a notice that no card is installed. Since the ability to select Storage Settings is grayed out, try rebooting the hub to see if that helps. Also, try the web client (my.arlo.com) to see if it's different.

Formatting the Micro SD card to FAT-32 did it! I can now record locally. Thank you very much for your help. It is greatly appreciated.
