Does the ultra camera record when the power is out, and/or when the WiFi and internet are down?

The camera has no storage, and it doesn't use your home wifi - instead it connects to the base with a closed wifi system.

If you have a microSD card in the base, it should record motion events on the microSD card even if the internet isn't working.  Though of course this won't happen if the base isn't powered - so you would need to use a UPS to power the base when the power fails.  Also, the recordings won't be uploaded to the cloud when the internet connection is restored - they are only saved on the microSD card.

You can test this behavior yourself.  First enable direct access to local storage for the base (which you should do anyway). Then

  1. Remove the ethernet cable from the base.
  2. Trigger motion recording by walking in front of the camera.
  3. Reconnect the ethernet cable, and look in the library for the recording - chosing the base station (not Cloud)
