Magnetic Housing - Retrofit

I purchased an extended battery and housing for my Ultra camera. The original was a magnetic mount. The new, larger housing is not.

Can I remove the metal magnetic piece from the inside of the smaller housing and put it into the new larger extended housing?

I want to retrofit the new housing so I can mount it magnetically.

I suspect it's too heavy for the Arlo mount to hold it.
