I want to receive notifications for when a person's outside our front gate near my husbands car at night. The Arlo is currently set up inside our gate, at the front of our home on our garage door. Then there is an average length driveway, then our fence and husband parks his car on the side of the road, next to the medium strip. In total it's around 10 metres to my husbands care from the device. The camera captures all this when looking at it on a video monitor. I don't want to get a notification every time someone's walking their dog on the medium strip outside our gate during the day, but at night I do. How can set this up for a time period of 8pm - 7am every night?

Arlo spec's the max motion detection range of the Ultra at 7.5m
So you likely won't get reliable motion detection at 10m. Maybe start with testing that, by walking in that area and using the motion detection test. If it's too far, the only options are to relocate the camera or park the car closer to it.
To get only notifications of people, you set up smart detection. More info on that is here:
It is possible to schedule the notifications, but I suggest first setting this up, and then seeing how many unwanted notifications you get during the day. Setting up an activity zone is another option.
