I've seen multiple posts on this topic, all with fake "solutions".
4K events record, but you can't record 4K manually? That is a major oversight and bug.
4K is important as it lets you zoom in on larger coverage areas to see the detail you want.
This should be fixed.

4k live viewing and recording is available but you can't have Auto Zoom and Tracking enabled which reduces resolution to 1080p.

Actually @BostonWalt is correct - if you enable 4K livestreaming, then manual recording is disabled.
No idea why that is the case, and several here have complained about it before.
