Arlo Ultra image quality issues

I purchased the Ultra system after being recommended by a sales consultant. I have a business where we need to be able to see number plates of cars around our business. After installation I noticed the quality is shocking. Even on 4K it’s impossible to zoom in and see anything, It just pixilates. How do I get the quality of picture represented on the box?

Arlo does claim that "High resolution 4K video reveals key image details, including words, logos and license plates." (Check the small print!) But there have been plenty of complaints on that front.
