Activity zone on porch is not working. The street is outside the zone, but vehicles trigger the cameras. Audio is turned off on that camera, so the noise should not trigger either.

Pets on the back yard deck trigger when outside their activity zone as well.

On a side, my wife’s phone is registering in zone today and her app is open. Finder knows where she is at, so her location services must be functioning.

Arlo version 2.9(1133).
iOS 12.4.1 both phones
iPhone XS Max
iPhone 6s (wife’s)

RSC1,

It could be the shape of the zone that is causing an issue. There were fixes made in recent updates to improve the accuracy of activity zones, you may need to delete your existing zones and recreate them to see if you experience better behavior.

After recreating, let us know if you still are having an issue.

Maybe it’s my fault. I finally see in the troubleshooting section that Ultras must be connected to AC for activity zones to work? The manual and literature does not mention thus per se.

I don’t get the warning message that AC is disconnected and thought that referred to other cameras.

Thanks!

RSC1,

The camera doesn't need to be plugged in to use Smart Cloud Activity zones. Take a look here: How do I set up the Arlo Smart Cloud Activity Zones?

Are the zones behaving better when you plug in the camera?

That is basically how I perceive it. I didn’t realize they had to be rectangles. Of course rectangles have 4 sides and 4 right angles and the zones have 8 grab handles, so it’s not clear.

Does it mean polygons with all internal angles greater than 90°?

I’m sorry. I forgot to say that I cannot plug them in, since there are no outlets outdoors. One is on a solar panel though.
