I have recently purchased 4 Ultra 2 cameras with the VMS 5440 hub. Although I am well within 300 feet of the base station for each of the cameras, 2 of the cameras have a weak and therefore spotty connection. In the FAQs, it was mentioned that a Wi-Fi range extender could be used. The model Netgear, Nighthawk X4S Model EX7500, was suggested as an option. I have purchased this and given it the same SSID as the hub. It will NOT function with the base station. What suggestions are available to be able to use all 4 cameras. The base station is located as centrally as possible in the home. The home is frame with no brick or stone walls. Thank you.

You will most likely need multiple base stations to gain signal strength required.
The 300ft distance range is for a free space path loss with no obstacles.
The purpose of using a range extender is to extend the Ethernet internet connection from your local router wirelessly to more ideally placed base station or an additional base station to improve camera signal quality.
The base station creates it’s own wifi as a closed connection to the cameras and cannot be mimicked by other devices.
